Wilfred DeFour, 100-year-old Tuskegee Airman, dies
(CNN) -- Wilfred DeFour, who served with the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II, was found dead Saturday in New York. He was 100.
New York police said officers responded to a 911 call to a residence in Harlem and found a man identified as DeFour unconscious and unresponsive. There were no obvious signs of trauma, police said, and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Remains of Oklahoma Korean War veteran return home after 68 years
DALLAS, Tx. - The remains of an Oklahoma soldier have finally returned home after nearly seven decades.
The remains of a Choctaw veteran, Pvt. Charles Gibson Kaniatobe, returned home November 15, after being deemed unrecoverable for 68 years.
Kaniatobe was finally laid to rest back home in Idabel November 17 and was buried with full military honors.
Deadline approaching: More than 100 angels still need to be adopted from mall Angel Trees
OKLAHOMA CITY - The deadline to adopt an angel from the Angel Tree is quickly approaching and the Salvation Army needs your help.
They say more than 100 angels have not been adopted off of the mall Angel Trees. Earlier this week, that total was more than 300.
"The community has really stepped up this week to ensure no child or senior is forgotten," said Major Susan Ellis, area commander. "With only 100 to go, and this being the last weekend before the deadline, I have complete faith that these final Angels will be taken off of the tree. Our community is generous and we feel fortunate to have that support."
Kyler Murray Wins Heisman Trophy
Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray on Saturday night was named the winner of the 2018 Heisman Trophy.
Murray becomes the seventh Sooner player to win the Heisman and the second in a row after Baker Mayfield won last year.
“This is crazy. This is an honor,” said Murray from the podium after being announced as the winner. “It’s something I’ll never forget. Something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.”
Former Bedlam Rival Coach Gets Win at OSU
Former OU coach Kelvin Sampson's Houston Cougars went on 9-0 and 10-2 runs in the second half and beat Oklahoma State's men's basketball team 63-53 on Saturday afternoon at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.
After the game, Sampson went over to say hello to former OSU coach Eddie Sutton, and Sampson got emotional in the postgame news conference talking about the 82-year-old Sutton.
Sooners Scorch Shockers in OKC
Oklahoma's men's basketball team went on a 33-9 run in the middle of the game to take control and cruise to an 80-48 win over Wichita State on Saturday at Chesapeake Arena in downtown Oklahoma City.
The Sooners led 32-27 late in the first half, then after a three-pointer from Matt Freeman made it 35-27 at halftime, took charge early in the second half.
